ICYMI: Suspect in a stolen Mustang arrested after a high-speed chase in Los Angeles last night.

NEW DETAILS: Florida Highway Safety reports undocumented 18-wheeler driver Harjinder Singh entered the U.S. illegally in 2018 but was able to get a CDL in California. Singh is accused of killing three as a result of making an illegal U-turn on a highway.

Most likely Singh got his CA CDL as a result of Assembly Bill 60.

According to CalMatters, California lawmakers first passed AB 60, called the Safe and Responsible Drivers Act, in 2013, as part of a broad effort to adopt more inclusive policies toward immigrants, to decriminalize their daily lives and maximize their contributions to the economy, experts said. 

Since the law took effect in 2015, more than a million undocumented immigrants, out of an estimated 2 million, have received licenses, and more than 700,000 have renewed them. 

Once an illegal immigrant obtains a CDL in California, it allows them to legally operate commercial vehicles within the state and potentially across state lines.

Besides California, other states have followed suit.  Here’s the reported list of states where illegal immigrants can get driver’s licenses:

PRISON PROTEST: The Brazos Valley Community Coalition hosted a protest Saturday along Texas Avenue and outside the women's federal prison.

📢Participants were protesting the transfer of Jeffrey Epstein's accomplice, Ghislaine Maxwell, to Bryan, TX. They’re concerned about the decision to house the child predator at what’s considered a minimum-security “comfort prison” and are calling for more transparency from the government.

Another note: I've attempted several times over the past week to confirm reporting on the internet that Ghislaine has been allowed work release from the prison, but my multiple messages to the Federal Bureau of Prisons were never answered.

BREAKING OVERNIGHT: A 16-year-old boy was shot and killed Saturday night at a back-to-school pool party in Covina, police confirmed to Eyewitness News on Sunday.

According to the Covina Police Department, officers began getting calls about gunshots near the area of 600 E. Camellia Drive around 10:15 p.m.

Witnesses said a home in the area was hosting an open invite swimming party. When officers got to the scene, they came across a large group of partygoers running in the street.

The teen, who's believed to be from La Puente, was found shot and was immediately rushed to a local hospital where he later died. Investigators believe he was shot by someone who may have known him.
