Homicide Rate Doubles as DC Crime Crisis Continues to Escalate

While some critics question the federalization of Washington, D.C. policing, National FOP Vice President Joe Gamaldi stands firmly behind the move.

“Their average homicide rate has doubled in the last 10 years. They used to average less than 100 homicides. Now they average over 200,” Gamaldi said. “Radical elements on the city council have defunded police, embraced revolving-door criminal justice policies, and frankly treated the hardworking men and women of law enforcement like crap. Of course they need help. You have to do something, otherwise it’s going to get out of control.”

Gamaldi emphasizes that supporting law enforcement isn’t partisan — it’s about keeping communities safe and officers empowered to do their jobs.

BREAKING: The DC Circuit Court of Appeals handed the Trump administration another major victory on Wednesday after it lifted a district court’s preliminary injunction prohibiting the government from cutting foreign aid for fiscal year 2024.

The ruling comes after several entities, including the AIDS Vaccine Advocacy Coalition, Journalism Development Network, Inc., and others,s filed a lawsuit challenging the White House’s cutting of foreign aid. Judge Karen LeCraft Henderson wrote the majority opinion holding that the plaintiffs did not have a valid legal basis for suing the administration over this matter.

NEW: DHS tells Bill Melugin that on Monday, ICE deported a dozen Laotian criminal illegal aliens back to Laos, including several convicted pedophiles, gang members, and drug traffickers. All had final deportation orders going back as far as 2003. (10 pictured here). The ICE deportation flight took off from Alexandria, LA. Per DHS, those on board include:

- Sai Vang, a 39-year-old illegal alien convicted of aiding and obstructing an investigation of first-degree murder. Known gang member of the “Masters of Destruction.”

- Sokhorn Ngem, a 56-year-old illegal alien convicted of first degree criminal sexual conduct and distributing sexually explicit material to a minor.

- Lue Kong, a 43-year-old illegal alien, convicted for first-degree criminal sexual conduct (person under 13).

- Seng Khang, a 38-year-old illegal alien, convicted for third-degree criminal sexual conduct (person 13-15).

- Bounthavy Phenglavanh, a 45-year-old illegal alien convicted for controlled substance — delivery/manufacture — ecstasy.

11 members and associates of the South L.A.-based Hoover Criminal Gang have been charged with running an extensive sex trafficking operation along the Figueroa Corridor. Among those in custody are lead defendant Amaya Armstead, 25, of South L.A., who is accused of sex trafficking a 14-year-old girl last year.
