📞 Check on Vulnerable Neighbors– This includes the elderly, disabled, young children, and pets.

🚗 Never Leave Anyone in a Parked Vehicle– It only takes minutes for temperatures inside a vehicle to reach unsafe levels.

🧊Find Cooling Centers– Check with your local community facilities as many are open to help residents beat the heat.

Please, pray for the two Gibson City Police officers who were shot in the line of duty yesterday morning.🙏🏻

Illinois: A manhunt is underway in Gibson City, Il. after a suspect shot two law enforcement officers responding to a report of a naked man.

The suspect, a 70-year-old, was last seen unclothed and is considered armed and dangerous. He may be riding a red bicycle.

The incident occurred early Saturday morning when officers from the Gibson City Police Department and Ford County Sheriff's Department responded to a call. Upon contact, the suspect opened fire, injuring two officers who are now receiving treatment for non-life-threatening injuries at local hospitals.

Additionally, the suspect’s house caught fire shortly after the shooting, with the cause still under investigation.

It was an emotional display of unity at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center near Wilkes-Barre on Saturday.

Members of Pennsylvania State Police, as well as officers from the Wilkes-Barre, Scranton, Blakely, Taylor, and Pittston police departments, gathered outside the facility to support Trooper William Jenkins as he was released from the the hospital.

"It's very overwhelming to know the support that we get from not only the community, but from all the police departments and PSP. It's a huge honor given the circumstances," said Nicole Jenkins, Trooper Jenkins' wife.
Trooper Jenkins is one of two state troopers ambushed by a gunman along Route 171 in Susquehanna County on Thursday.

Wisconsin: A Monona Police officer injured in a theft investigation turned vehicle and foot pursuit on Saturday.

Monona officers were assigned to a theft complaint around 8:00 p.m. Saturday, after a report from a retail establishment. Using a description of the individuals and a vehicle that fled the store, officials said they saw the car at a gas station nearby.

MOPD reports that after the car’s tires deflated, the driver and passenger leapt from the vehicle to flee on foot. However, the passenger caught a portion of the car and was temporarily dragged and run over by the driverless vehicle. Eventually, the passenger freed himself and began to run away from the officers.
Officials said they were able to capture both suspects, and they were taken into custody. The passenger suspect was taken to a local ER by an ambulance and had serious injuries.

An officer was also injured during the foot chase with a torn hamstring.
