Virginia: On August 6, 2025, at 10:28 p.m., Chesapeake Police Officers responded to a report of a domestic assault at an apartment in the 500 block of Willow Bridge Court.

Upon arrival, officers heard a woman inside the residence screaming for help. As officers attempted to breach the front door to render aid, an unknown suspect began shooting at them through the door from inside the apartment. Two officers were struck by gunfire. Their injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening, and they were transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The Chesapeake Police SWAT Team and negotiators were activated and are currently on scene. This remains an active and ongoing situation as officers work to safely secure the residence and ensure the safety of all individuals involved.

As a result of the police response, Greenbrier Parkway is closed between City Park Drive and Kempsville Road. Drivers are encouraged to avoid the area and seek alternate routes.
