NEW: Millions of Californians, from the Bay Area to parts of Southern California, have just likely lived through their coldest first two months of summer on record.

All areas highlighted in dark blue have recorded their coolest June 1–August 1 period on record since the dataset began in 1979.

Petaluma, in the North Bay, has had weather more typical of Fairbanks, Alaska, this summer.

San Francisco has seen just two days above 70°F since June 1.

Monterey’s highest temperature this summer has been 71°F. Every other summer on record since World War II has had at least one day reach 74°F or higher.

Lompoc, on the Central Coast, is having its coldest summer so far since 1971.

Tens of millions of dollars intended for LA fire victims through Fire Aid is being probed.   

Fire Aid claims funds went to fully-vetted non profits who in turn are helping or assisting fire victims.  At least one food bank reportedly used $1m to pay staff issuing food.  Do you agree with this?    Should homeowners just have been cut checks?
