UPDATE: The man accused of opening fire on the driver who drove into an East Hollywood club crowd is in custody.

Efrain Villa-Lobos is believed to have shot the suspect in that crash last month. No other details were given. Three dozen people were hurt including the driver. He survived the gunshot wound, but faces serious charges.

NEW: The feds have captured British national Ahmed Mohamed, who escaped from the downtown Los Angeles ICE detention last Tuesday with the help of anti-ICE activists.

Mohamed, who has a rap sheet including charges of narcotics and weapons possession, was shackled as contract guards lined him up with several other detainees before walking them into the ICE detention center for processing, DHS sources told me.

A masked man was seen helping Mohamed escape when the guards weren’t looking, per sources. The migrant was then loaded into a waiting van with the help of the protestors.

On Friday, ICE agents in San Diego “swiftly apprehended” the escape artist at an undisclosed location, the agency said.

DEVELOPING: Around 1,200 of Houston police officers carry a Sig Sauer model linked to several misfire cases across the country, including one that injured a local officer.

The decision to prohibit the Sig Sauer model P320 pistol comes after attorneys for Houston police officer Richard Fernandez Jr. filed a lawsuit against the manufacturer and a local Houston shop, alleging Fernandez's misfired while he was directing traffic ahead of the Martin Luther King Jr. Day Parade.

The misfire sent a bullet through his right calf that lodged in his ankle, according to the lawsuit.

Texas: A Bruceville-Eddy police officer was injured when he was hit by a car that had been hit from behind by a pickup as he worked a Monday morning accident.

Department of Public Safety Sgt. Ryan Howard said it happened about 8:50 a.m. on the I-35 southbound entrance ramp near mile marker 314 near Old Blevins Road. Sgt Howard said the preliminary investigation showed a Chevrolet Impala was slowing down to stop as the officer crossed the ramp to check on a vehicle involved in another crash. The Chevrolet was rear-ended by a Ford F-150, pushing the Impala into the officer.

Both the officer and the driver of the Impala were taken to a local hospital.
