LAPD News: An OIS investigation is underway near the 9300 block of Corbin.

On July 20, 2025, around 7:45 p.m., LAPD Devonshire Area patrol officers responded to a radio call of an Assault with a Deadly Weapon suspect reportedly armed with a gun in the 9300 block of Corbin Avenue.

The LAPD Air Unit arrived overhead and located the suspect. The airship directed ground units to the suspect’s location.

Officers made contact with the suspect, who was non-compliant with officers' commands. Officers initiated a foot pursuit.

During that foot pursuit, an officer-involved shooting occurred.

The suspect was struck by gunfire and sustained a gunshot wound.

Los Angeles Fire Department personnel responded and transported the suspect to a local hospital, where he is currently listed in stable condition.

DEVELOPING: Former Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva has registered a campaign committee for the November 2026 election to win back his previous post.

Villanueva’s is the biggest name yet to enter the race for the position lost to Sheriff Robert Luna in 2022. Luna has already declared his plans to seek reelection.

This morning at the Santee alleys in the fashion district of downtown Los Angeles.

A group of individuals was stealing and  they jumped the car and tried running folks over as they were leaving. Stay safe out there people!

BREAKING: Los Angeles, Gage & Compton - multiple people injured during street takeover, according to multiple sources.

No further details at this time.

UPDATE: The driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI. Unknown immigration status.

BREAKING OVERNIGHT: An AutoZone store in South Los Angeles was looted and vandalized after an apparent street takeover overnight.

NEW: Said Salimitari, 61, an Iranian national with a violent criminal record, was arrested by ICE San Diego on July 17. With multiple convictions under his belt, Salimitari now awaits removal in ICE custody.
