A suspect was arrested hours after he allegedly shot and killed a state Corrections parole agent at the parole office in East Oakland. The Oakland Police Department has handed over the investigation to CHP.

The California Highway Patrol says immediately after the shooting, the suspect ran away from the scene but was taken into custody by Oakland officers near the intersection of 90th Avenue and International Boulevard.

What led up to the shooting is unknown at this time.

Ohio: A Columbus police officer is recovering after his cruiser was involved in a crash in the city’s South Side neighborhood Thursday.

According to a Columbus police dispatcher, the cruiser was t-boned by another car along Gilbert Street between Deshler and Thurman avenues at approximately 3:25 p.m.

The officer was taken to a local hospital in a stable condition.

Massachusetts: Two off-duty police officers from the Leicester Police Department, were seriously injured in a motorcycle crash in Worcester after a pickup truck made a left turn and failed to yield.

The driver, a woman, was arrested and charged with operating under the influence and failure to yield.

Our thoughts are with Officers Eddie Santiago and Stephen Kustigian as they receive medical attention. We appreciate the quick response of the Worcester police officers, FIrefighters, EMS and Good Samaritans and wish a speedy recovery to the injured officers.🙏🏻
