Connecticut: Two state troopers were struck on Interstate 91 North in Enfield while responding to another crash on Thursday morning and the highway was closed hours later as police investigated.

State police said two state troopers were struck near exit 47W around 7 a.m. while they were at the scene of a multi-car crash and several people, including the two troopers, were injured and were taken to the hospital.

Trooper Genovese suffered serious injuries. Trooper Cerri sustained moderate injuries.

According to a state police union spokesperson, one state trooper has a broken leg and is being treated at a hospital and the other might have a concussion and was treated and released from the hospital.
