BREAKING: Acting U.S. Attorney Nancy Larson announces attempted murder charges against ten individuals involved in a coordinated attack on ICE officers in Alvarado, Texas:
"It was a planned ambush with the intent to kill ICE corrections officers."

A suspect armed with an untraceable “ghost gun” opened fire on LAPD Gang Enforcement officers during a foot pursuit near MLK Jr. Park, wounding one officer in the legs and grazing his face.
Despite taking fire, officers continued the chase, eventually arresting 26-year-old Ernesto Sepulveda after his gun malfunctioned and he ditched it in the park. A 9mm ghost gun and spent shell casings were recovered at the scene. The wounded officer is now in stable condition, and Sepulveda is being held on $1 million bail while the shooting remains under investigation.

Since 2016, Axel was a dedicated partner of Officer Robin Bolanos, until Axel retired in September 2024. Axel was a tremendous asset to our department and will be dearly missed.
After 8 years of service, Axel, our first ever bomb detection dog, retired with honors. Born June 2, 2014, in the Delray Beach Police Department, Czech Republic, Axel joined the DBPD in February 2016 as a certified patrol canine. Throughout his remarkable career, Axel apprehended 54 criminals, contributing significantly to community safety.
So long, Axel, You will be missed and your level of service will live on in our hearts.
