Texas: Girls are being recovered from campsites across Kerr County after rivers surged, sweeping buildings and people away. At last count, 23 girls have yet to be accounted for.

San Diego: Skyline Dr & S. Woodman St – A suspected DUI driver ran a red light and T-boned an off-duty SDPD officer, seriously injuring him in a 3-car crash.

Officers initially couldn’t get the officer out—rescue was called, but they pried open the door themselves. DUI investigation underway.

Officer transported with major injuries. Prayers for recovery for the officer.🙏🏻

Say hello to the newest four-legged crime fighter at the Culver City Police Department!

Specially trained in arson and explosives detection, Kohu brings a powerful nose and fearless spirit to our public safety team.

He’s already making a big impact and just last night, Kohu assisted in locating four illegally possessed loaded firearms with extended magazines.

As we head into the 4th of July weekend, he’s on duty to help keep Culver City safe and has a few reminders:

💥Keep your pets safe indoors and away from fireworks
💥Make sure they have their collar/micro-chip on and the information is current
💥Put on music or TV and give them toys to stay distracted
💥If your pet goes missing, check with local shelters

NEW: Several people have been injured after a fireworks explosion in the Blue Creek area of Lake Martin, Alabama.

As of 3:30 PM on July 4th, 23 children remain missing at Camp Mystic in Hunt, Texas, along the Guadalupe River.

Multiple arrests today during several different demonstrations in DTLA.  Most were peaceful but once again, as the evening approached, outside agitators began to cause issues. 

We are requesting that any and all acts of damage or vandalism be documented by photographs or video and forwarded to Central Division.

Our hearts go out to the people of Kerrville and the other cities in Texas, affected by the devastating flash flooding that has claimed dozens of lives. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department offers our deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of those lost. We appreciate the bravery and dedication of the first responders and volunteers working tirelessly to rescue those in need and maintain hope for those who are still missing.
