When a bull and a cow escaped from their pasture and ran into the road, Sgt. Volker saddled up (well… sort of) to help wrangle them back home.

With no owner in sight, nearby neighbors joined in for an impromptu cattle drive. After 30 minutes of persistence, patience, and probably a few “Yeehaws!”, they got the cows safely back in their pasture. 😆

BREAKING UPDATE: Human remains found at site of warehouse fire.

While searching for seven people who disappeared after massive explosions at a fireworks warehouse in the Esparto area, the Yolo County Sheriff's Office confirmed on Friday that it had found human remains at the site. This comes after crews began entering the property Thursday afternoon to search for the people.

What appeared to be human remains were seen on stretchers. Details were not released as to how many people crews believe they have recovered.

Three years ago, this quiet moment between Morrow Police Chief David Snively and a little girl captured hearts — and it still speaks volumes today.

After a chaotic traffic stop escalated and her mother’s boyfriend was taken into custody, this young girl was scared and overwhelmed. She had tears in her eyes. She looked up at the Chief and asked a question no child should have to: “Is he ever coming home?”

Chief Snively didn’t have all the answers. But he knelt down. He listened. He told her the adults would figure it out — that she would be okay.

And when she leaned in for a hug, he gave her one.
