Watch: An electrical worker was hit by the top of an 18-wheeler passing under the traffic signal, dashcam video shows.

The Denham Springs Police Department said the worker suffered only minor injuries and was not taken to the hospital because they had a harness on. Denham Springs Police are investigating whether or not charges will be filed.

Texas: Armed woman surrenders following hours-long standoff.

The woman started standing in the main lanes of the freeway. The constable’s office said the woman was refusing to comply or drop the weapon.

According to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, the woman, armed with a pistol, sat on a chair in the southbound main lanes. The sheriff said she was expressing suicidal thoughts.

Members of the Crisis Intervention Response Team communicated with the woman. A family member also came to the scene, according to Pct. 4.

Shortly before 6:30 p.m., a SWAT team was able to approach the woman, and she was detained.
Officials at the scene said she was taken to a hospital for further assistance.

No one involved in the initial crash or the standoff was reported injured.

An LA Times reporter has posted a video in which she coaches LA moms who hire illegal immigrant nannies on how to protect them from ICE and “limit risk” of an ICE encounter, including suggestions to give them “paid leave”, walk them to a bus stop, or call them a taxi to avoid public exposure.

Without hesitation, Moises stepped forward and held an umbrella, soaked himself, but determined to show respect.

His mom, Sabina Luico Sauseda, says Moises was deeply moved. The man being honored had served 12 years in the military, and Moises, whose own father passed away four years ago, felt the weight of the moment. “You don’t see the tears in the picture,” she said, “but he was crying. This was very close to home.”
