Ceres, California: – June 24, 2025, 12:50 p.m. A School Resource Officer was in the parking lot of Blaker-Kinder Junior High School, located at 1601 Kinser Road, when her holstered firearm discharged due to a suspected malfunction.

At the time of the incident, summer school had concluded for the day and only a limited number of students and staff remained on campus. The officer sustained a non-life-threatening injury to her leg and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

No students or staff members were in close proximity to the officer when the incident occurred, and no other individuals were injured.
