LAPD Chief Jim McDonnell issued a statement regarding use of force investigations relating to the protests, and the dangerous, fluid and violent situations officers encountered.

It’s funny as hell to watch all these so called conservatives jump ship, then try to climb back on. So many were calling Trump a warmonger and expressing their disappointment. Please, pray for the two Texas Tech University police officers who were shot in the line of duty this morning.🙏🏻

A suspect is dead after a shootout with two Texas Tech University police officers in Lubbock early Tuesday morning, authorities said.

It happened around 12:45 a.m. in a Texas Tech parking lot located on the north side of Jones AT&T Stadium, according to the Lubbock Police Department.

According to authorities, two university police officers were checking on a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot. During the interaction, police said the suspect got out a gun and began firing shots at officers.

The suspect was then shot by officers and died at the scene, police said. 

LPD said the police officers were both shot and suffered non-life-threatening injuries. They were taken to a local hospital.

Please, pray for the Massachusetts State trooper who was seriously injured in the line of duty last night.🙏🏻

A Massachusetts State Police trooper was critically injured in a hit-and-run in Revere on Monday, police said.

The trooper was hit by a motorcycle, believed to be stolen, on Revere Beach Boulevard just before 5 p.m., state police said. The crash sent the trooper, who was on duty at the time, about 45 feet.

The driver ran off from the scene and was being sought. State police said shortly after 9 p.m. that two suspects, whose names were not released, are in custody.

Nevada: Henderson Deputy Police Chief Jonathan Boucher has officially retired from his post, a city spokesperson confirmed on Monday, weeks after he was reportedly given an ultimatum to resign or be fired.

Boucher’s last day was Thursday, a city spokesperson told the Las Vegas Review-Journal in an email. The Review-Journal and other outlets reported June 5 that Boucher had been placed on leave similarly to former chief Hollie Chadwick, who was fired in March after city manager Stephanie Garcia-Vause said she lost confidence in Chadwick’s ability to improve the culture and operations within the department.
