NEW: A Las Vegas police officer shot and injured two people after someone allegedly shot at law enforcement from a car late Sunday night, according to an official.

The shooting happened around 10:40 p.m. in the city of North Las Vegas, near Lone Mountain Road and Scott Robinson Boulevard, west of Camino Al Norte, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Capt. Esmeralda Boveda told reporters.

The officers spotted two vehicles believed to be related to the investigation and followed them, Boveda said. While the officers followed, at least one person from those cars opened fire and several rounds hit two LVMPD vehicles.

An officer in one of the LVMPD vehicles returned fire, shooting at the car before it left the area.
More officers responded, found the two vehicles and detained the occupants. Two people were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. One person is in critical condition, and one suffered non-life-threatening injuries, Boveda said.

No officers reported any injuries.

Florida: During a traffic stop on SE 161st Street in Summerfield, one of our deputies arrested Rheanna Harden (DOB: 10/22/2002) for driving with a suspended license, providing false identification to law enforcement, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

While being transported to jail, Harden—who had concealed a small-caliber handgun in the crotch area of her pants—fired at our deputy, injuring him. The deputy returned fire, wounding Harden.  Both were transported to the hospital where they were treated for their injuries and have been released.
