The Trenton NJ Police Department is mourning the loss of Officer Timothy Long, who was killed in a crash early Sunday morning.

It is with great sadness that we share the news of the tragic passing of one of our members. Veteran Trenton Police Officer Timothy Long was killed this morning in a traffic accident  on Interstate 295 in Burlington County.

He served as a police officer in Trenton for 25 years.

"Our thoughts and prayers go out to Tim's family, friends, and the entire Trenton PBA," said NJ State PBA President Andreyev.

A West Haven PD officer was struck in the legs after a juvenile on a dirt bike drove at them, and another officer jumped out of the way of an ATV after police were surrounded during a street takeover.

Two adults and a juvenile were arrested following a chaotic street takeover involving a large group of dirt bike and ATV riders on the Connecticut shoreline where one officer was struck and another had to jump out of the way to avoid a collision, police said.

The West Haven street takeover was discovered Sunday just after 7 p.m. on Captain Thomas Boulevard where officers working the shore patrol detail found a large group of riders reportedly performing wheelies, speeding and driving in the wrong lane, according to Sgt. Scott Allard of the West Haven Police Department.

The officers attempted to stop one dirt bike that they say was speeding and appeared to have a minor riding on the back. The operator took off, but was stopped a short time later.

According to police, the officers attempted to take the operator into custody, but he intentionally drove into the leg of one of the officers, causing an injury

CAPTURED: Honduran Man Wanted for Attempted Murder

Thanks to a TxDPS Trooper, our streets are safer and a criminal illegal immigrant wanted out of Colorado for various violent offenses — including attempted murder — is now back in custody.

Juan Carlos Rivera Garcia, 42, of Honduras, was arrested during an #OperationLoneStar traffic stop and booked into the Maverick Co. Jail last Thursday. He was wanted not only for attempted murder, but also domestic assault causing serious bodily injury with a deadly weapon and child abuse.

NEW: A Las Vegas police officer shot and injured two people after someone allegedly shot at law enforcement from a car late Sunday night, according to an official.

The shooting happened around 10:40 p.m. in the city of North Las Vegas, near Lone Mountain Road and Scott Robinson Boulevard, west of Camino Al Norte, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Capt. Esmeralda Boveda told reporters.

The officers spotted two vehicles believed to be related to the investigation and followed them, Boveda said. While the officers followed, at least one person from those cars opened fire and several rounds hit two LVMPD vehicles.

An officer in one of the LVMPD vehicles returned fire, shooting at the car before it left the area.
More officers responded, found the two vehicles and detained the occupants. Two people were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. One person is in critical condition, and one suffered non-life-threatening injuries, Boveda said.

No officers reported any injuries.
