*NEWS INTERRUPTION*

Today, the man responsible for the crash that severely injured Officer Elizabeth Minter was sentenced in court. Shaquille Montgomery received 15 years for assault, 10 years for leaving the scene of the crash with injuries, 10 years for possession of a controlled substance, and 1 year for possession of marijuana. The sentences will run concurrently.

This case has deeply impacted our department, our city, and all who know and love Officer Minter. While today's sentencing brings a sense of closure in the legal process, it does not erase the pain or the long road to recovery she continues to face.

We are incredibly proud of Officer Minter's strength and resilience. Her dedication to serving our community, even in the face of adversity, continues to inspire us all. We remain committed to standing by her and her family every step of the way.

Thank you to everyone who has supported Officer Minter throughout this difficult journey. Please continue to keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

Jennifer and I mourn the tragic loss of Sergeant Shiou Deng, a dedicated public servant to the Los Angeles community.

In honor of Sergeant Deng, I’ve instructed flags at the State Capitol to be flown at half-staff.

Governor Gavin Newsom

Our mission is to keep America safe and vigorously enforce the law.

AG Pam Bondi is on Capitol Hill presenting a budget that will help us continue to achieve that mission and support federal law enforcement as well as our state, local, and tribal law enforcement partners.

Iran has officially responded to our Obliteration of their Nuclear Facilities with a very weak response, which we expected, and have very effectively countered. There have been 14 missiles fired — 13 were knocked down, and 1 was “set free,” because it was headed in a nonthreatening direction. I am pleased to report that NO Americans were harmed, and hardly any damage was done. Most importantly, they’ve gotten it all out of their “system,” and there will, hopefully, be no further HATE. I want to thank Iran for giving us early notice, which made it possible for no lives to be lost, and nobody to be injured. Perhaps Iran can now proceed to Peace and Harmony in the Region, and I will enthusiastically encourage Israel to do the same. Thank you for your attention to this matter!

A West Haven PD officer was struck in the legs after a juvenile on a dirt bike drove at them, and another officer jumped out of the way of an ATV after police were surrounded during a street takeover.

Two adults and a juvenile were arrested following a chaotic street takeover involving a large group of dirt bike and ATV riders on the Connecticut shoreline where one officer was struck and another had to jump out of the way to avoid a collision, police said.

The West Haven street takeover was discovered Sunday just after 7 p.m. on Captain Thomas Boulevard where officers working the shore patrol detail found a large group of riders reportedly performing wheelies, speeding and driving in the wrong lane, according to Sgt. Scott Allard of the West Haven Police Department.

The officers attempted to stop one dirt bike that they say was speeding and appeared to have a minor riding on the back. The operator took off, but was stopped a short time later.

According to police, the officers attempted to take the operator into custody, but he intentionally drove into the leg of one of the officers, causing an injury

Please join us in sending prayers and, or positive thoughts for his recovery.🙏🏻
