COVID-19 appears to be on the rise in some parts of California as a new, highly contagious subvariant β€” featuring β€œrazor blade throat” symptoms overseas β€” is becoming increasingly dominant.

Nicknamed β€œNimbus,” the new subvariant NB.1.8.1 has been described in news reports in China as having more obvious signs of β€œrazor blade throat” β€” what patients describe as feeling like their throats are studded with razor blades.

President Trump’s leadership has resulted in the most secure border in this nation’s history.  In the last 24 hours the Border Patrol encountered a total of 95 illegal aliens across the entire southern border.  That is the lowest number EVER recorded.  Compare that to the Biden Administration who surpassed more than 10,000 per day. On top of that, they released the vast majority into the US.  How many were released under Trump for May?  Zero. Compare that to the 62,000 aliens Biden released in May of last year.  To continue this great work and make it more permanent, we need the Big Beautiful Bill passed so we can finish the job, to include the biggest deportation operation the American people voted for.  God bless the men and women of CBP and ICE. President Trump is the Game Changer!

Israel, the West Bank and Gaza: Given the security situation and in compliance with Israel Home Front Command guidance, the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem will be closed tomorrow (Wednesday, June 18) through Friday (June 20). This includes the Consular Sections in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. We have no announcement about assisting private U.S. citizens to depart at this time. The Department of State is always planning for contingencies to assist with private U.S. citizens’ departure from crisis areas. We will alert the U.S. citizen community if there is additional information to share regarding departure options. U.S. citizens should enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program at http://step.state.gov to receive the latest updates.
