MAN HITS AND INJURES TWO POLICE OFFICERS TRYING TO FLEE - On Sunday, June 15, at 3:10 a.m., a Bedford Police officer was on patrol when he observed a running vehicle in the parking lot of the Hampton Inn and Suites on Hawthorne Drive, with two unconscious occupants inside.

Chief Daniel Douidi reports that two officers from the Bedford Police Department were injured after they were struck by a driver who attempted to flee during an investigation in the parking lot of a local hotel, leading to the arrest of the driver and a passenger.

The officers although injured in the collision, were able to stop the driver in the parking lot and arrest him at the scene.

BRANDON LEGERE, AGE 43, OF MANCHESTER, was arrested and charged with:

Felony DUI

Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer

Reckless Conduct with a Deadly Weapon

Possession of Controlled Drugs

Additional charges are pending against LEGERE, who has been held on Preventive Detention and will appear before a judge in court on Monday morning.

The passenger of the vehicle was also arrested on warrants and a charge of Possession of Controlled Drugs. The passenger, a woman, is still being processed at the Bedford Police Department.

Both of the injured Bedford Police officers were treated and released from local hospitals.

"I want to commend our officers who made these arrests in a very dangerous situation," said Chief Douidi. "While these officers were performing their duty, working on keeping our roads and community safe, they suffered injuries as a result of being struck by a suspect's car. We’re grateful that they did not suffer more serious injuries and are already out of the hospital.”

The Massachusetts State Police are pleased to announce that Trooper Sean Clark, who was seriously injured on June 10th after being struck by a hit-and-run driver while conducting a traffic stop, has been released from Baystate Medical Center. He has been transferred to a physical rehabilitation facility where he will continue his recovery.

On behalf of Trooper Clark, we would like to thank everyone who has reached out with well wishes for him and his family. We continue to wish Trooper Clark the best in his recovery and remind all drivers to remember to move over when they see a first responder on the side of the road.

Connecticut: Two West Haven police officers suffered minor injuries while arresting an 18-year-old man accused of threatening to harm someone who has a protective order against him.

Isaiah Burroughs of New Haven was charged with nearly a dozen offenses, including two counts of assault on a police officer, engaging police in pursuit, and criminal possession of a pistol.

Officers caught Burrough after a brief struggle and he was taken into custody.

Police said two officers sustained minor injuries and were transported to a hospital for further evaluation.

As of Monday, police said both officers are doing well.
