Hamilton County Sheriff's Office, Ohio Corporal J. Schaefer was working his assigned duty when he had an episode where he briefly dazed off and was unable to talk or respond.

Thankfully, the incident occurred while he was near a fellow officer.  Corporal Schaefer snapped out of it and felt rather normal, and finished his shift with no other symptoms. After persistent nagging by his close friends - he finally went to the hospital to get checked out.

The checkup unfortunately didn’t go as expected, and there was a large tumor on his brain.  He was then admitted to Good Samaritan Hospital for further testing and monitoring. An MRI was conducted and surgery was scheduled. Corporal Schaefer underwent brain surgery.  After testing, the tumor was confirmed to be stage 2 cancer.  Corporal Schaefer is currently recovering at home as the neuro team prepares for rigorous treatment.

He is surrounded by his wife, children, family, and close friends as he prepares for the next phase of recovery.

Please join us in sending prayers and, or positive thoughts for his recovery.🙏🏻

This celebration not only honors the rich history and tradition of the Army but also highlights the courage, commitment, and sacrifice that have defined its existence since its inception in 1775.

The U.S. Army was established in 1775, during a tumultuous period when the American colonies were seeking independence from British rule. From its early days, the Army has played a critical role in shaping the nation’s identity and securing its freedoms. Over the centuries, it has evolved into a highly skilled and versatile force, adapting to the changing landscape of warfare and the needs of the country.

The Army’s rich history includes participation in pivotal conflicts such as the Revolutionary war, the Civil War, both World Wars, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, the Gulf War, and the ongoing fight against terrorism. Each chapter in this history is marked by the valor and dedication of Soldiers who have answered the call of duty, often at great personal cost. 🇺🇸
