Louisiana: A West Baton Rouge Sheriff's deputy was injured in a crash on I-10 Wednesday morning. 

The sheriff's office confirmed a unit was involved in a crash on I-10 near Mile Marker 152 between LA-1 and LA-415.

Officials said the deputy only received what are believed to be minor injuries.

The Corpus Christi Texas Police Department sadly announced the death of K9 Parker, a 2-year-old Dutch Shepherd. K9 Parker served alongside Senior Officer Devin Haywood for one year. Tragically, K9 Parker experienced a sudden medical event recently and passed away.

Louisiana: New Orleans residents increasingly feel safer, with 54% finding the city safe, up 11 points since last year.

Nearly half of the 800 residents in a recent phone survey said they were somewhat or very satisfied with New Orleans police, while violent crime continues to decline in the city.
