New York: Two Nassau County police officers were injured while making an arrest in Levittown, officials say.

Detectives tell News 12 that Dashawn Tompkins attempted to run from the officers after a vehicle he was riding in was pulled over on Gardiners Avenue.

Two other people in the car had orders of protection against Tompkins, who had initially given officers a fake name and birthday, officials say.

One officer suffered broken ribs and a broken wrist. The other officer suffered minor injuries.

A New York State Trooper was seriously injured in a crash on the New York State Thruway on June 6, 2025. The incident occurred around 12:30 PM when a tractor, not pulling a trailer, collided with the rear of a patrol vehicle during a traffic stop involving a Honda Odyssey westbound, just west of Exit 26.

The impact caused the patrol vehicle to strike the Honda, and the Trooper, who was standing on the passenger side of the Honda, was thrown over the guiderail and down an embankment. The Trooper sustained serious but not life-threatening injuries and was transported to Albany Medical Center.

The driver and passenger of the Honda were taken to St. Mary’s Hospital in Amsterdam with minor injuries.

If you are one of the more than 100 million people who use AT&T, you might want to take stock of your data.

Hackers said they accessed and leaked millions of AT&T customers' private information after the ShinyHunters group allegedly stole the data in April 2024, according to a new report from Hack Read. The report claimed some 86 million AT&T customer records have been leaked, including full names, dates of birth, phone numbers, email addresses, physical addresses, and social security numbers. In total, Hack Read reported that 44 million social security numbers were included in the leaked data.

The social security numbers and birth dates were encrypted in the original hack by the ShinyHunters group, a leak that was made possible by security flaws in the Snowflake cloud data platform, as Mashable previously reported. Now, Hack Read has reported that this sensitive data is now decrypted.
