One of our first big wildfires of the season may be connected to PG&E equipment. The company told state regulators, CAL FIRE seized its equipment in connection with the Midway Fire near Tracy that happened on May 22.

The Boston EMS (Emergency Medical Services) sadly announced the death of active-duty EMT Lyanna Tran, badge number 1433. She was held in high regard by her colleagues and will be deeply missed by the entire Boston EMS family.

On April 18th, Officer Mark Sills sustained a gunshot wound to the upper chest. Fortunately, his ballistic vest prevented serious injury and saved his life. Following a complete recovery, he returned to full duty last Wednesday.

Today, Officer Sills was honored with the Armour Express Award of Valor in recognition of his service during the incident.

The Burleson County Sheriff’s Office, Texas, sadly announced the death of Burleson County Sheriff Gene Hermes.

Sheriff Hermes passed away peacefully after a valiant fight with cancer.

Sheriff Hermes served with the Burleson County Sheriff’s Office for many years prior to winning election and taking Office as the Burleson County Sheriff in March of 2020. He has previously served with the Lee County Sheriff's Office, Caldwell Police Department.

DEVELOPING: Crews are on the scene of a wildfire that's burning off Highway 28 in Sanders County, Montana.

A wildfire that started Saturday north of Plains has forced officials to close Highway 28 from the junction with Highway 200 just east of Plains to Highway 382 south of Hot Springs.

The Banana Lake Fire was being fueled by strong winds Saturday evening, and Sheriff Shawn Fielders said that deputies were notifying those who might be affected, but that no evacuations have been ordered as of 7:30 p.m.
