It's over. The Senate just passed my Resolution to stop Newsom's gas-car ban. It now heads to President Trump's desk.
This is a bipartisan national repudiation of the utter insanity Newsom has inflicted on our state.

NEW: The Mexican illegal alien charged w/ murder in Paso Robles, CA for allegedly leaving his 6 y/o son to bake to death in a hot car for 9 hours while he worked on a 99 degree day was using a stolen Social Security number to work and has now been charged by the Feds for fraud.
Briant Reyes Estrada was shielded by California's sanctuary state law when he was arrested for a handful of misdemeanors days before the death of his son, when ICE's detainer was ignored due to local law enforcements inability to cooperate with ICE.
USAttyEssayli says Estrada committed fraud while applying to work at a series of hotels in San Luis Obispo County, falsely claiming that he had the right to work in the US, and using a Social Security number belonging to someone else. He was also allegedly using a lawful permanent resident card belonging to someone else, a Salvadoran national.
On top of his local murder charges, he now faces federal charges that could land him up to 10 years in federal prison if convicted - though the local charges will take precedence given their severity.
San Luis Obispo County DA dandowsays "Briant Reyes Estrada had been arrested and booked into the San Luis Obispo County jail on April 29. 2025, after which ICE issued an order to detain the inmate at the county jail. However, California's state "sanctuary" law prohibited our county jail from detaining the individual on that detainer. Had he been properly detained, he would not have been free and able to do what he did to his child on May 10th. This child's death would very likely not have happened."

BREAKING: I have a few updates on last nightβs shooting that I want to share with you all, in the interest of transparency. Out of respect for the investigation and the charges being aggressively pursued, we are limited in what we can immediately say, but we want to share as much information with the public as possible as we work through the process and seek justice.
- The FBI is aware of certain writings allegedly authored by the suspect, and we hope to have updates as to the authenticity very soon.
- The subject is in custody and interviewed last night at approximately 1am. As this is a pending investigation, we will share more with you when we are able.
- As our WFO office said, the FBI believes there is no ongoing threat to the public at this time. At the same time, I want the public to be assured we are following up on any additional leads to ensure we do our complete and total due diligence on this.
Above all, please pray for the families of the victims. This is something no parent, family member, or friend should have to go through. The FBI sends our condolences and will offer our full support as the investigation continues.

Michigan: Troopers from the Gaylord Post responded to a gas station in Pellston for a welfare check. It was reported that an adult female was dropped off at the gas station with two suitcases and did not have a place to go.
Troopers contacted the State Trooper Outreach Partnership (STOP) and requested funds for a one night stay at a hotel. STOP contacted the Pellston Lodge and paid for a hotel room, so the woman had a warm place to sleep.
Troopers are always finding ways to go above and beyond for the citizens they serve.
