South Carolina: A Florence County sheriff’s deputy died and one other person was hospitalized after a crash Tuesday afternoon on Olanta Highway, the sheriff’s office said.
It happened at about 4:30 p.m. near Blackwells Farm Road, according to the sheriff’s office. Both the deputy and the other driver were transported to an area hospital, but the other person’s condition was not immediately available.
The deputy’s name was not immediately available. The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating.

NEW: ICE identifies the 8 aliens on the South Sudan deportation flight manifest. All have egregious criminal convictions, including multiple murderers and sex offenders. Only one person on the flight is from South Sudan, the rest are from Cuba, Burma, Vietnam, and Mexico. It's unclear if South Sudan will be the final destination. DHS will sometimes remove aliens to third party countries if their home countries won't cooperate with deportations. A Mexican being on this flight is a bit puzzling. A federal judge in Boston has ordered DHS to maintain custody of the men in case he rules that the flight is illegal/violated his court order.
