LASD Staffing Crisis: 24% of the department gutted.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is grappling with a severe staffing crisis.

Over 4,000 positions are either vacant or filled by personnel unable to serve, leading to forced overtime and escalating mental health concerns among deputies. In a recent Civilian Oversight Commission meeting, LASD Assistant Sheriff Jason Skeen highlighted the dire situation, stating that the department is operating with approximately 24% of its workforce unavailable. This shortage has not only strained resources but also contributed to a troubling increase in deputy suicides.

The White House will continue to have conversations over the weekend strongly urging House Members to seize the generational opportunity before them and vote YES on this historic legislation to fix the mess Joe Biden created. The White House expects ALL Republicans to vote for this bill and successfully pass it through Committee in the near future.
