The Warner Robins Police Department, Georgia, sadly announced the death of K9 Argo.

Argo was beloved by the agency and has been in active service with his K9 handler, Inv. Jason Lamberth since 2017. Argo was set to officially retire in less than a week.

With copper theft surging across L.A., the LAPD’s Heavy Metals Task Unit has made over 250 arrests and recovered thousands of pounds of stolen wire.

The team is targeting thieves stripping streetlights and telecom lines, often selling the metal for $4.60 a pound. Investigators are working closely with scrapyards to track stolen wire using identifiable markings and routine inspections. The goal: stop the thefts and keep neighborhoods safe and the lights on.
