The Louisiana State Police sadly announced the death of retired K9 Trooper Pita, who passed away following declining health. Pita faithfully served the State of Louisiana for nine years before retiring in February 2024. She has been enjoying retirement living with her handler, Sgt. Moseley.

Middletown Ohio Police Pursue Stolen Vehicle: Officer Injured in Collision

On May 4th, 2025, at approximately 12:57 p.m., officers from the Middletown Division of Police were on patrol when they observed a stolen vehicle in the vicinity of Winona Drive and N. Verity Parkway.

The officers activated their lights and sirens in an attempt to stop the vehicle; however, the driver failed to comply and fled the scene. The suspect proceeded northbound on Tytus Avenue and attempted to turn left onto Eldora Drive, during which they collided with a Middletown Police cruiser. Both occupants of the stolen vehicle then fled on foot, and one suspect was later apprehended.

A police officer sustained injuries during the incident and was transported by ambulance to Atrium Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries.

A high-level Cal State Northridge official was killed in a “very well-orchestrated execution” at a LA Live restaurant, an LAPD detective testified last week. The preliminary hearing for two suspects who were arrested in connection with the November 2023 killing is ongoing. Detectives say the motive as to why Morris was targeted is still unknown.
