FOX EXCLUSIVE: DHS will announce today that they will begin paying for the commercial flights of illegal aliens who self-deport from the U.S., & they will pay these aliens an additional $1,000 once they are confirmed to have left the country. DHS tells FoxNews this will save American taxpayers 70%, as it currently costs DHS, on average, over $17,000 to arrest, detain, and deport someone from the U.S., while paying for self-removal flights & the stipend is projected to cost just $4,500, and will be safer for ICE and preserve their resources.

Illegal aliens must register on the CBP Home app and file their notice to leave the US in order to receive the financial assistance, and the stipend will only be paid once the alien is confirmed to have left the United States.

DHS tells us any aliens who register to self deport will be immediately de-prioritized for ICE arrest and will maintain the ability to return to the U.S. legally in the future. DHS says they have already successfully tested out the financial assistance, recently paying for an illegal alien to fly back to Honduras from Chicago, with more tickets booked this week.

DHS Secretary Sec. Noem statement to FOX:

“If you are here illegally, self-deportation is the best, safest and most cost-effective way to leave the United States to avoid arrest. DHS is now offering illegal aliens financial travel assistance and a stipend to return to their home country through the CBP Home App. This is the safest option for our law enforcement, aliens and is a 70% savings for US taxpayers. Download the CBP Home App TODAY and self-deport.”

Please, pray for the Michigan State trooper who was shot in the line of duty this morning. 🙏🏻

A Michigan State Police trooper was wounded while a suspect was killed during a shootout with police early Monday in Detroit.

According to MSP Lt. Rene Gonzalez, members of the auto theft team were working undercover in the area of Murray Hill and Trojan, not far from Eight Mile, around 4:40 a.m. During their investigation, a 23-year-old Detroit man came out of a house and started shooting at the troopers. Troopers returned fire, killing him.

One trooper was hit three times - once in the leg, once in the back, and once in the chest area, which hit his ballistics vest. He is currently in serious but stable condition at a hospital.

Today, communities across Los Angeles County will commemorate the day Mexican forces, led by General Ignacio Zaragoza, stood their ground and defeated the French army at the Battle of Puebla in 1862. It was a true underdog victory that inspired pride and unity across the country. Zaragoza, who was born in Texas, became a local legend, and over time, Cinco de Mayo grew into a celebration that blends history, heritage, and community—especially in places like California and the American Southwest.

It has evolved overtime to become a day where people come together to enjoy food, music, dancing, and the occasional margarita. But while we celebrate, it’s important to stay safe. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department wants to remind everyone to plan ahead and make smart choices.

Drinking and driving don’t mix. If you’ve had something to drink, don’t get behind the wheel. Instead:
• Grab a ride with a designated driver
• Use a rideshare app
• Call a taxi
• Or just stay where you are

Enjoy the festivities, but make sure everyone gets home safely.

Happy #CincoDeMayo

Imagine seeing this fine group of protectors outside your house. 👀 Over the weekend, deputies from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to a reported assault with a deadly weapon call. Within a few minutes, deputies had tactically coordinated a plan to de-escalate the tense situation without harming anyone and brought the suspect into custody. The suspect was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and remains in custody at this time.
