Sheriff Wesley Doolittle stopped a road rage incident involving a driver armed with a gun! It happened at FM 1488 and FM 1774.  The 55-year-old driver who had the gun was arrested.

“This isn’t just a story of quick thinking,” said Lt. Spencer. “It’s a testament to Sheriff Doolittle’s character. In less than five months in office, he’s proven that he’s not one to sit behind a desk. He’s a career lawman, hands-on, committed, and always ready to protect the people of Montgomery County.”

While monitoring Dunn County Dispatch, Trooper Brathol responded to a call about an owl that was possibly struck by a car along WIS 29 near Menomonie. Upon arriving, she found the injured owl with a wounded wing.

Trooper Brathol carefully transported the owl to the Colfax Wildlife Rehabilitation and Release Center, where it is now receiving the care it needs for recovery.

NEW: A fan fell from the 21-foot Clemente Wall in right field at PNC Park during Wednesday night's game between the Pittsburgh Pirates and Chicago Cubs.

The Pittsburgh Pirates say the fan who fell from the right field bleachers onto the field was taken to a hospital.

A Delaware State trooper severely injured in a helicopter crash forty years ago has died.

The Delaware State Police this week announced the line of duty death of 69-year old Dennis Kelly who died as a result of complications from injuries sustained in the crash on May 20, 1984.

Kelly and his partner, Corporal Thomas Robbins, were conducting landing and take off training at Sussex County Airport in Georgetown when their helicopter experienced a hard landing. The aircraft then rolled over.

Robbins was treated for non-life threatening injuries, but Kelly suffered a broken neck and spinal cord injury which rendered him a quadriplegic.

Kelly's name will be added in May to the Delaware State Police Memorial and the Delaware Law Enforcement Memorial, both located in Dover.

Next year his name will also be added to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington, D.C.

“I also have a [recording] that [he] told my ex-mother-in-law that even if he kills me no one can do anything to him,” Jennifer Vasquez Sura, wrote in the document she filed with the District Court of Maryland for Prince George’s County on Aug. 3, 2020.

This is the second request and allegation of wife beating she filed while the two have been together.

Hollywood neighborhood taken over by squatters and crime, neighbors fed up.

Residents in a Hollywood neighborhood are pleading with city officials to intervene after they say two vacant buildings have been taken over by squatters, bringing dangerous criminal activity to the area.

South Carolina: North Charleston Police confirmed one of their officers was involved in a traffic accident Wednesday afternoon.

The crash happened on Highway 52 at Gaillard Road in Moncks Corner, police spokesman Harve Jacobs said.

EMS took the officer to an area hospital for treatment of minor injuries, Jacobs said.

NEW: A Honduran fentanyl dealer with more than a dozen arrests in San Francisco pleaded guilty to six counts of possession with intent to distribute narcotics today at the city’s federal courthouse.

A federal complaint was leveled against Kevin Martinez-Cruz in December 2024 after he cut off his ankle monitor and continued to deal drugs after being bailed by a San Francisco judge. He had previously cut off another ankle monitor and continued to deal drugs while on bail and also fled from Sheriff’s officials who wanted to check another ankle monitor, which he had not yet managed to cut off, again while on bail.

Tennessee: Cocke County deputy injured after he fell into creek from broken bridge, sheriff says.

The search continues for a suspect in Cocke County after a deputy who was chasing him on foot was injured when the bridge he was on broke and caused him to fall into a creek.

The Cocke County Sheriff’s Office continues to search for Drury Whitlock. After three days of an extensive search, officers found Whitlock on foot off Blue Mill Road. While chasing him, a deputy ran across a bridge. Sheriff CJ Ball said the side of the bridge broke, causing the deputy to fall 14 feet into the creek below.

The deputy landed on the rocks, causing injuries. Deputies and detectives provided first aid to the deputy, who was taken to Tennova Newport.

West Virginia: A Kanawha County Sheriff's Deputy was injured in a crash while responding to a high-speed pursuit in Sissonville Wednesday afternoon.

According to a release from the Sheriff’s Office, a pursuit was initiated around 1:51 p.m. after deputies tried to pull over a vehicle travelling at high speeds on Route 21. The chase ran from Sissonville Drive to Interstate 77 and back to Sissonville, with deputies temporarily losing sight of the suspect vehicle.

During the pursuit, a responding Kanawha County Deputy got involved in a crash at the intersection of White Oak Drive and Route 21. The deputy and the driver of the other vehicle were both transported for non-life-threatening injuries.
