Our hearts are heavy as we mourn the tragic loss of Deputy Brandon Sikes, who was killed in the line of duty. We stand with Brandonβs wife Amber, their daughter and their families. βLord comfort them and wrap your loving arms around them.β
We also continue to pray for Deputy Gavin White, who was critically injured and is continuing to recover and improve in the hospital with his fiancΓ© Hayley Sward by his side.
We take comfort in the words of Psalm 34:18: βThe Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.β Please join us in praying for the families, friends and colleagues who are grieving and for the full healing of our wounded hero.
We are profoundly grateful for the overwhelming outpouring of support, prayers and assistance from neighboring law enforcement agencies, first responders and our community. Your strength and solidarity remind us that we are never alone in these dark hours. May God grant us peace, heal our broken hearts and continue to watch over all those who protect and serve.
βBlessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God.β Matthew 5:9

NEW: A carjacking suspect is dead after he was shot by police following a wild chase on Monday evening in Philadelphia.
At one point, the suspect could be seen traveling at a high rate of speed against traffic.
Officers later swarmed the vehicle after it hit a tree in a grassy median at Roosevelt Boulevard and Langdon Street in the city's Summerdale section.
Police say the suspect came out of the vehicle armed, and that's when he was shot multiple times.
The suspect was taken to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Commissioner Kevin Bethel said this all started with a carjacking at G Street and East Hunting Park Avenue around 7 p.m.. The police chase suspect allegedly shot a 32-year-old man before taking his vehicle.
