The brave men and women of TxDPS continue to lead the way in securing our border and protecting Texas through Operation Lone Star. Our bi-weekly recap highlights their unwavering commitment to the safety and security of our state and nation—The mission continues. #OperationLoneStar

Lt. Chris Olivarez

The DC Fire And EMS regrettably announced the Line-of-Duty death of Technician Stephen W. Shipp, Jr. on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, due to an occupational illness.

Technician Shipp's service to the Dept. began on 4/19/2004 as a member of Recruit Class 336. Shipp was appointed to Engine 33 and later transferred to Truck 7/Platoon 4 where he served for the remainder of his career, becoming a Technician on 10/11/2020.

It takes a rare kind of person to dedicate their life to protecting others, and an even rarer one to do so with humility, humor, and heart. Technician Shipp brought all of that and more to the firehouse, to our community, and to the lives of everyone lucky enough to know him.

Rest In Peace, Hero 💔🖤
