LAPD News: FID investigators at scene of an OIS in West Valley Division.

Prelim info, early stages of invest: Around 6:25pm West Valley Div patrol ofcrs respond to ADW call 6400 blk Reseda Blvd. Suspect armed with a handgun.

As ofcrs arrived to the area of the call, they spotted the suspect, described as a male adult , run into an apartment complex on Victory Blvd near the intersection of Reseda Blvd.

The suspect then ran to the rear alley of the apartment complex where officers made contact with him and an officer involved shooting occurred.

The suspect was struck by gunfire and taken into custody. Fire Dept. paramedics responded to the scene for treatment and subsequently determined the suspect deceased.

An LAPD airship was overhead and reported that the suspect appeared to fire his handgun at the airship. At this point in the investigation it doesn’t appear the airship was struck by the suspect’s gunfire.

No officers or other Community members were injured during this incident. The suspect’s handgun was recovered at scene and will be booked as evidence. This is an ongoing investigation in the early stages. Investigators are looking at video and physical evidence.

An Arkansas State Trooper has been injured in a roll over accident during the storms on Highway 7.

It occured 4.3 miles North of Hot Springs at about 5:37. He was trapped in the vehicle.

Mississippi: One person died after a chase in Copiah County yesterday morning.

Copiah County deputies were called to Highway 51 and County Line Road late Saturday night for reports of people drag racing in the area.

The trooper chased the Dodge Charger and they ended up a road over on Rhymes Road.

During the chase, Jayden Bridges lost control of his charger and left the road and the vehicle hit a tree. He was transported by ambulance to a hospital in Hazelhurst where was later pronounced dead.

According to Sheriff Swilley, the MHP trooper also lost control and was injured. He was transported to the hospital in Jackson with non life-threatening injuries.
