Thanks to CA democrats and a law they passed last year requiring oil refineries to maintain a certain fuel level or be fined, we have another refinery closing.
Making this the 3rd refinery to be forced to close, expect gas prices to go up.
Again.

Two uncontained Western NC wildfires on national forest land grew to 800 and 300 acres on April 16, while firefighters battle tough conditions.
A wildfire burning in the Nantahala National Forest forced portions of the Joyce Kilmer-Slickrock Wilderness to close April 15 near Robbinsville, U.S. Forest Service officials said.
A lightning strike April 12 started the Haoe fire, according to an April 15 Forest Service news release. When it was first reported at 6:05 p.m., the fire was about 5 acres. Three days later, the wildfire had spread to about 120 acres, the Forest Service said around noon. The fire is burning in the Cheoah Ranger District of the Nantahala National Forest in Graham County.
The fire is 2 miles from the Joyce-Kilmer Memorial Loop Trail and separated by several natural features, including the Little Santeetlah Creek drainage, the release said. Forest Service crews continue to monitor the situation and will work to mitigate impacts on the area's natural resources.
Evacuation order issued as crews battle wildfire in McDowell County
"Visitor and employee safety are the highest priorities for the Forest Service, so the public should stay out of this area while fire crews work to contain the blaze," the release said.

Waseca Police Department Chief Kris Markeson announces the establishment of the Officer Arik Matson Legacy Service Award.
A unique new recognition has been created for Waseca Police Department Officers to honor the good work and accomplishments of their peers. The Officer Arik Matson Legacy Service Award is named in honor of retired Officer Arik Matson, who was critically injured in a January 2020 on-duty shooting which left him with a traumatic brain injury and required him to medically retire from his much-loved law enforcement career. The criteria for the award are based on positive character traits Officer Matson exemplified during his career: Cooperative Spirit, Community Engagement and Willingness to Improve Oneself.
Chief Markeson said: βThis award is unique because it was created with input from Arik and he will choose the recipient each year. We are blessed that Arik survived this attempt on his life and thought this was a good way to carry his legacy into the future generations of the Waseca Police Department. The goal is for Officers to model Arikβs positive character throughout their career and for their peers to recognize their hard work and nominate them for the award. It creates an environment of positivity and pride in their service, which leads to overall improvements in our work with the community.β
The Waseca Police Department expects to award the first Officer Arik Matson Legacy Service Award at a recognition event later this year.
Please see the attached award announcement.

πΊπΈπ²π½ US transfers land on Mexican border to the Army to prevent illegal crossings
The Trump administration announced an emergency transfer of nearly 110,000 acres of federal land along the U.S.-Mexico border to the Army to help prevent illegal immigration, the Interior Department said on Tuesday.
The land, which crosses Hidalgo, Luna and Dona Ana counties in New Mexico, will be transferred to the Department of the Army for three years, the agency said, allowing for patrols by federal personnel and construction of infrastructure to prevent illegal crossings.
This is not the first time Trump has made such a move. In 2019, during his first term as president, the Interior Department made a similar transfer of 560 acres along the southern border to the Army to build a wall.
