Astonishing video has emerged of a bald eagle swimming effortlessly to a shore in Lake Winnipesaukee in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire. The footage was taken by Laconia resident Tyler Blake on Monday morning. 'Just to see how uncanny it is, for it to be, like, a human doing the breaststroke, it's just amazing,' Blake said. Experts say the bird was not injured and was likely swimming with a fish secured in its talons. Bald eagles are known to swim during hunting or holding fish because they are buoyant and can take breaks in their swim. #WOW

Hong Kong's authorities have closed government offices after crowds and riot police clashed in a day of violence over a new extradition bill. Police fired pepper spray, used batons and water cannons to beat back umbrella-wielding protesters who tried to reach the city's parliament on Wednesday. The authorities began shuttering government buildings in the financial district, which will remain closed until the end of the week, as a handful of protesters remained milling on the streets early on Thursday. Wednesday's violence was some of the worst the city has seen since Britain handed it back to Chinese rule in 1997. The Hong Kong Hospital Authority said 72 people had been hospitalised by 10pm on Wednesday. ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ˜ฑ #Retract
