Despite major flooding in the Midwest, some parts of the country could reach record high temperatures for May across states from Alabama to Virginia. 'In what has been a warmer-than-normal May to date across the Southeast, temperatures will take a notable turn upwards through the end of the week and into Memorial Day weekend,' AccuWeather meteorologist Max Vido said. ☀️

He vowed to increase police patrols at large events and conducted an extensive search for a new director of the Police Department, but the violence has continued. It erupted again early on Saturday morning with a drive-by shooting in front of a bar that left 10 people hospitalized, city officials said.

A British climber who died on Mount Everest had previously told of his worries about overcrowding on the mountain and had even changed his plans before setting off. Robin Haynes Fisher, 44, died in the 'death zone' -known for low oxygen levels - on his descent after reaching the summit of the world's highest mountain. In one of his last social media posts, he told of how he had changed his plans in order to avoid the 'fatal' crowds. He said: 'With a single route to the summit, delays caused by overcrowding could prove fatal so I am hopeful my decision to go for the 25th will mean fewer people. Unless of course everyone else plays the same waiting game.' ❄️😢

At least two people have died after a tornado ripped through a hotel in Oklahoma, according to officials. The American Budget Value Inn in El Reno was torn apart last night, with witnesses saying people are being pulled from the rubble. A nearby mobile home park in the path of the twister was also destroyed.😱🌪
Donald Trump is on a golf outing with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe in Tokyo. The president arrived by helicopter at the Mobara Country Club Landing Zone in Chiba on Sunday morning. He shared a quick handshake with his counterpart, who he was seeing for the first time since he arrived the evening before. During their game, Abe tweeted a selfes showing him and the president smiling during their game.
