President Donald Trump showed Democratic congressional leaders the back of his hand on Wednesday, ending a planned meeting on infrastructure legislation after just three minutes, then storming out to the Rose Garden to vent publicly instead about their vows to investigate and possibly impeach him. The White House showdown in the Cabinet Room came at what had been supposed to be a summit with Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer and other top Democrats to hammer out how to pay for a $2 trillion infrastructure package. But Pelosi had accused him hours earlier of presiding over a 'cover-up' after holding a meeting with her caucus, some of whom are pushing aggressively to impeach the president - prompting Trump's walk-out. He told reporters gathered in the Rose Garden 'I don't do cover-ups.' Pelosi responded at her own press conference: 'I pray for the President of the United States and I pray for the United States of America.'

The DUI suspect who launched wild police chase in stolen RV on Tuesday has been identified as Julie Ann Rainbird, 52, of Winnetka. Simi Valley police say the RV was purchased using a stolen identity in Downey, California. An LA woman reported her identity was stolen on April 30, which led police to the Santa Clarita lot where Rainbird was found in the RV. After cops approached the camper around 7pm on Tuesday, Rainbird sped away, smashing into at least six cars and a palm tree before coming to halt and running on foot. Rainbird was booked into jail on $100,000 bail for possible evasion, hit-and-run and assault charges. She was previously convicted of identity theft in January 2015.👮🏻♂️

Game of Thrones universe is brought to life: Moving tectonic map of Westeros and Essos reveals the geological processes that would have shaped the fictional landscape. Researchers in Australia have built the first plate tectonic reconstruction of the Game of Thrones continents. Even in this fantasy Game of Thrones world, geological processes like tectonic plate movement, earthquakes and volcanic eruptions would have been responsible for building the mountains, carving the rivers and creating vast oceans. #WOW

Human beings are yet to land on Mars but they'll soon to leave their mark on it after NASA offered the public an opportunity to send their names to the Red Planet. Names will be delivered, stencilled on chips, via NASA's Mars 2020 rover and people will receive their own souvenir boarding pass and 'frequent flyer' points. The rover, a robotic scientist weighing more than 2,300 pounds (1,000 kilograms), is scheduled to launch as early as July 2020 and land on Mars in February 2021. It will search for signs of past microbial life, characterise the planet's climate and geology, collect samples for future return to Earth, and pave the way for human exploration of the Red Planet.

Texas homeowner shoots dead a 19-year-old man outside his home on Tuesday night, after possibly mistaking the teenager’s paintball gun for a firearm. The fatal shooting happened at 11.30pm in East Houston last night, shortly after ‘some sort of disturbance’ involving more than a dozen teens gathered outside of a home was reported to authorities. According to police, the father ‘believed’ a group of teenagers were shooting at his home on Force Street, and, feeling threatened, he fired one shot in return at the alleged perpetrators. A 19-year-old male was struck by the bullet and rushed to hospital where he later died. 😱
4 dead as killer tornadoes, floods slam Central US.
A violent storm system blasting through parts of the central U.S. was linked to four deaths while fueling almost 60 tornado reports Monday and Tuesday – with more damage expected Wednesday, forecasters warned. Severe storms, possibly with large hail, were forecast for Wednesday from Texas to the Great Lakes, the National Weather Service said. Forecasters had placed portions of eastern Kansas and western Missouri under a "moderate" risk for severe weather later Wednesday. That's level 4 on the 5-level risk scale for severe storms. Flooding was a concern to the south: Residents of some small towns in Oklahoma and Kansas were being urged to leave their homes as rivers and streams rose. The Arkansas River is approaching historic highs, while the already high Missouri and Mississippi Rivers were again rising Wednesday. 😱💦🌪
