Another visitor dies after falling at Grand Canyon โ˜ ๏ธ
A person died after falling off the edge of the Grand Canyon this week, the third death at the canyon since early last week.
On Wednesday at around 11:30 a.m., park rangers were notified that a man had fallen over the edge, east of Yavapai Geology Museum, a press release from the National Park Service said.
Rangers were able to find the body of a 67-year-old man about 400 feet below the rim, the release said.
The site of the fall is located on the South Rim in Grand Canyon Village. The area is open to public and visitors, the release stated.
This marks the third person to die at the Grand Canyon in the past two weeks.
Opioid crisis in Philadelphia pits feds against effort to open first-in-the-nation drug injection site ๐Ÿ’‰โ˜ ๏ธ
The U.S. attorney in Philadelphia and a high-powered nonprofit are embroiled in a legal battle over the organization's plans to open a supervised drug injection site to try to rein in the city's raging opioid crisis. U.S. Attorney William McSwain said Wednesday that his decision to challenge the effort by the group Safehouse to open the first-in the-nation drug injection site was a matter of following federal law. โ€œNormalizing the use of deadly drugs like heroin and fentanyl is not the answer to solving the epidemic,โ€ McSwain said. The issue is especially critical for Philadelphia, which has the highest opioid death rate of any large U.S. city with more than 1,000 deaths per year โ€” nearly four times its homicide rate. ๐Ÿ’‰

David Attenborough's latest triumph is a feast for the eyes... and food for thought.
Police have revealed that a 'boy' claiming to missing child Timmoty Pitzen is actually a 23-year-old man called Brian Rini. Rini was found wandering the streets, and told officials that he had escaped kidnappers who had been holding him for seven years. Law enforcement carried out DNA tests, while Pitzen's family said they were 'cautiously hopeful' that their relative had finally been found. Pitzen vanished seven years ago, after his mother committed suicide in a motel leaving a note saying her son was safe but would never be found. The FBI said investigators continued to establish the Cincinnati boy's real identity.

Will teen maniac who 'didn't like Mondays' soon walk free? Girl, 16, is up for parole 40 years after she opened fire on her school to 'liven the day', killing two and inspiring the Boomtown Rats' hit. Brenda Spencer (inset, now aged 56) remembers starting the day by taking her epilepsy medicine, washed down with whisky. The diminutive 16-year-old (left) with bright red hair then armed herself with the .22 rifle and telescopic sight that her father, Wally, had given her for Christmas and started firing shots from a window. Her target was Grover Cleveland Elementary School, just 150ft away across the road, where - at around 8.30am - a crowd of young children were waiting patiently for their head teacher to unlock the gates (right).
