Over 13 million Texans facing water crisis after brutal winter storm. The crisis in Texas is expanding after a frigid winter storm crippled infrastructure in the state. Although electricity has been mostly restored, more than 13 million people — almost half of the state's population — don't currently have access to clean, running water. In many homes, the tap is dry. Finding bottled water is nearly impossible. Some have resorted to boiling snow. Houston, which is America's fourth largest city, opened 11 sites Thursday to help give away water.

Anahaim, Calif. - Orange County officials announced they would open another vaccine distribution point at the Anaheim Convention Center to dole out booster shots for those inoculated with the Moderna vaccine. The new site is set to open on Feb. 24 for those inoculated with Moderna to get their booster shot. After Feb. 24, only the Pfizer vaccine will be administered at Disneyland for the first and booster shots and the convention center will be where Moderna shots, including boosters, will be administered, officials said Wednesday. The county has been receiving 35,000 to 40,000 vaccines a week, but if it received more it could open new sites for inoculations, Orange County CEO Frank Kim said.

Two Florida women dressed up as elderly women with bonnets and glasses so they could get the COVID-19 vaccine — and it worked, at least the first time, officials said. The duo was caught when they tried to get their second dose Wednesday at the Orange County Convention Center in Florida. “Yesterday, we realized a couple of young ladies came dressed up as grannies to get vaccinated for the second time, so I don’t know how they escaped the first time, but they came (to get) vaccinated. The bonnets, the gloves, the glasses,” said Dr. Raul Pino, from the Florida Department of Health in Orange County. Pino said he’s not sure how the two young women were able to get their first doses, but when they showed up Wednesday to complete the series, they had a valid vaccination card. But “there were some issues with their IDs and their driver’s licenses,” he said. It’s not known whether the women will face charges.
