Tucker Carlson Tonight: The great Texas climate catastrophe is heading your way. Well, the good news is all that alternative energy seems to have had a remarkable effect on the climate. Sunday night, parts of Texas got the temperatures that we typically see in Alaska. So global warming is no longer a pressing concern in Houston. The bad news is, they don't have electricity. Millions of Texans woke up Monday morning having to boil their water because with no electricity, it couldn't be purified. The ironically named Electric Reliability Council of Texas, which oversees the grid, had no solution to any of this. They simply told people to stop using so much power to keep warm. So in Houston, hundreds of shivering Texans headed to the convention center like refugees to keep from freezing to death. Some Texans almost certainly did freeze to death. Later this week, we'll likely learn just how many more were killed as they tried to keep warm with jury-rigged heaters and barbecues and car exhaust

New Orleans, LA -- Huge transformer explosion on South Pierce just now. Crews here now.
A man armed with a gun was shot and killed by deputies who chased his vehicle to an Indian Wells country club after he’d threatened to kill another driver in La Quinta Monday, officials said.
Authorities initially responded around 7:25 a.m. to Highway 111 and Simon Drive, an area lined with many commercial businesses.
The driver of a black Mercedes-Benz with Arizona plates was brandishing a handgun and threatening to kill another motorist, Riverside County sheriff’s Sgt. Lionel Murphy said.
The man who wound up shot went to the victim’s vehicle, beat on the window with a handgun and asked him if he wanted to die, Sheriff Chad Bianco told the Desert Sun.
The Mercedes driver allegedly fled while deputies were en route to the scene. They caught up with him near the corner of Desert Horizons Drive and Highway 111 in Indian Wells, about 3 ½ miles east from the initial confrontation, the Sheriff’s Department said in a news release.
The suspect then drove into the Desert Horizons Country Club, where the Desert Sun reports an attendant opened the gate for him when he said he was fleeing authorities.
Murphy confirmed the suspect got out of his vehicle and was confronted by two deputies on the country club’s property.
The suspect allegedly pointed a handgun at the deputies, at least one of whom opened fire.
Officials have yet to determine whether both deputies fired their weapon, or how many shots were fired, Murphy said.

Authorities are investigating after police shot and killed a robbery suspect near the 10 Freeway in El Monte Monday. The incident occurred just before 2 p.m. at the corner of Durfee Road and Garvey Avenue, following a report of a man stealing from a store nearby, according to a news release from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, which is assisting El Monte police in their investigation. Responding officers spotted a man they believed to be the perpetrator, and he ran onto the 10 Freeway off-ramp, officials said. Two officers wound up in a fight with the suspect after they caught up to him, and at least one officer opened fire during the scuffle, according to investigators. The robbery suspect was struck and died at the scene, deputies said. Authorities did not say whether the man was armed or give an indication of what prompted the use of lethal force. No officers were hurt.
