LASD values transparency with the public by engaging in open and honest communication. Last year, members of the community were invited to participate in hands-on training with our Tactics unit to promote transparency during critical incidents. During these scenarios, veteran law enforcement instructors recreated high stress scenarios that Deputies experience on a regular basis. Community Members were confronted with several different scenarios including some when a mock firearm or other deadly weapon were produced. Marquis Diamond, a community representative who attended the training program, shared his experience. Working in the community, we get to see things from the social media side; and sometimes, like we just realized today, that’s not always what’s accurate. So coming to an event like this, it allows us to see the perception from the officer’s eyes. That way when we’re in our communities we get to let them know: let the facts come out first, before we make judgement on how this situation played out.

⚠️ San Diego Sheriff: This Super Bowl weekend, the winning play is to designate a sober driver. Even a small amount of alcohol can negatively affect the way you drive. As our DUI expert at the Crime Lab explains, Buzzed Driving is Drunk Driving.

LA County Sheriff Alex Villanueva: I want to remind everyone this Super Bowl Weekend, LASD HQ will be in full force. We will be looking for drunk drivers. Stay safe, wear your mask, practice social distance & don’t have big parties. We don’t want a tragedy in your home. Thank you & have a great day.

Tucker Carlson Tonight: The Ultimate Victim Group In Our Society. The people with entourages, people who can’t remember the last time they wrote a personal check, people whose husbands get $2.8 million to consult with someone they wake up with every morning, are declaring that a ruling class ever more disconnected from the rhythms of American life is in fact the ultimate victim group in our society.

LAS VEGAS — Authorities say a man has been arrested near the Nogales, Arizona, and Mexico border by U.S. Customs and Border Protection in connection to a deadly shooting in Las Vegas in 2016.

27-year-old Victor Delgado is currently awaiting extradition, according to Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

On October 13, 2016, shortly after 6 a.m., the department says officers responded to reports of a shooting at a business on East Lake Mead Boulevard between Hollywood Boulevard and Mt. Hood Street. When they arrived they found a man lying in the parking lot with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators say the man had been involved in a fight with two other men, which escalated into a physical altercation in the moments before the shooting.

Two suspects fled the scene in a small silver car prior to officers’ arrival, police said at the time.

It was the 133rd homicide investigated by the LVMPD in 2016.

Police continue to ask for help with the investigation. Anyone with any information is asked to contact police at 702-828-3521 or homicide@lvmpd.com. To remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555or crimestoppersofnv.com.

WARNING! GRAPHIC CONTENT! NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Nashville detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying the two assailants who fatally shot Alexis Chacon, 29, at 2:10 a.m. Sunday at the Twice Daily market, 5272 Cane Ridge Road. The men responsible for killing Chacon arrived in a gray/silver Chrysler sedan (believed to be a Chrysler 300) and confronted Chacon as he was dispensing fuel into a gas can beside his 2017 Dodge Challenger. The suspects then pull up in the Chrysler sedan and confront him. Anyone recognizing the suspects and/or their gray/silver Chrysler sedan is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463. LOS ANGELES - If you are in Los Angeles County, home is the place to be. And if you are following LA County Health guidelines then spending time with immediate family that lives with you is the preference... especially for Super Bowl weekend. If you don’t want a virtual Super Bowl party then you can head to Orange, Riverside or San Bernardino counties, where restaurant patios are allowed to have their TVs on. We spoke to several restaurant owners to see what they plan to do this weekend. One of the more unique things… a restaurant in San Bernardino will have a rapid COVID-19 testing available to its customers. All restaurants will follow their county’s COVID-19 safety guidelines. Meanwhile, as for law enforcement all agencies we spoke to say they have better things to do than monitoring eateries, but they will if they have to. Especially for those in LA County that have their own health departments, like Long Beach, where they are not as strict about the TV ban.
