Tucker Carlson Tonight: As troops swarm our capital, Democrats send clear message: We're in charge nowю Our capital city is currently under military occupation. By Inauguration Day, there are expected to be more than 26,000 armed federal troops in Washington. No living American has seen a moment like the one we're watching now. For comparison, Lyndon Johnson sent a total of 13,600 federal troops and Army National Guardsmen to Washington to quell the race riots that followed the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. Those riots injured hundreds of people and killed at least 13. In 1864, as the Civil War raged on the other side of the Potomac and Americans died every day in large numbers, there were fewer federal troops protecting Washington, D.C., than there are tonight.

The AR-15, which had 50-round drum machine with one bullet in the chamber, was found concealed in a bag in the vehicle's backseat, San Leandro police said. Police also recovered an "It" clown mask and marijuana from the vehicle. Police did not state what originally made them pull over the car. The suspect was arrested, transported to jail and booked on multiple drug and weapons violations, officials said. Police did not immediately identify the man they arrested.

NYC -- Police and BLM protesters clashed outside City Hall Park on Monday night, resulting in dozens of arrests and several injured officers, authorities said. The confrontation began at about 8:30 p.m. after hundreds of protesters that originally met outside the Barclays Center marched across the Brooklyn Bridge in a demonstration honoring Martin Luther King Jr., according to social media posts. Once they made their way into Manhattan, they were met with a heavy police presence and chaos ensued, online footage shows. Ten police officers were injured in the melee, sources said, and a captain was struck in the helmet with a bottle. Police sources said one protester, who was arrested, swung a stick at an officer. At least 29 arrests were made near Chambers and Centre streets, with many accused of blocking traffic.

CALGARY, Alberta/OTTAWA - Joe Biden’s expected move to cancel the Keystone XL pipeline prompted Canada’s main oil-producing province of Alberta on Monday to threaten to seek damages as Ottawa made efforts to save the troubled project. Scrapping the project would threaten Canadian jobs and the U.S.-Canadian relationship as Prime Minister Justin Trudeau tries to turn the page on the Donald Trump era, though the idea drew support from environmental groups and progressive U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders. A source told Reuters on Sunday that Biden will cancel a permit for the $8 billion project over concerns about fossil fuels contributing to climate change, dealing a blow to the Canadian energy sector.
