After curfew comes into force in Washington DC, Trump supporters continue to gather and confront National Guard and police outside the Capitol
Trump supporters fought with the police moving forward, and even managed to de-arrest one of their comrades as the police deployed mace against them. The very last thing I saw before leaving the scene after the Capitol was cleared was Trump supporters singing "Star-Spangled Banner" and waving a "Trump 2020" flag. A long convoy of State Troopers arriving in Washington DC after historic siege of US Capitol Building.
WASHINGTON DC - A woman who was shot and killed after pro-Trump protesters charged the U.S. Capitol building on Wednesday has been identified as 14-year Air Force veteran, Ashli Babbit, of San Diego. FOX 5's Lindsay Watts spoke with Babbit's mother-in-law on Wednesday evening. "I really don’t know why she decided to do this," Babbit's mother-in-law told Watts. Babbit and her husband owned a business in San Diego. Her husband did not come to D.C., Watts reports. The shooting was reported shortly after 3 p.m. as the situation escalated inside and outside of the Capitol building when Congress began counting the Electoral College votes. Babbit was later pronounced dead after being transported to a local hospital in critical condition. D.C. police have not yet confirmed the circumstances of the shooting.

Video from Instagram shows a man in south Minneapolis open his pickup door, look around and fire several gunshots in the air early on New Year's Day. - For some reason
Facebook, Twitter and YouTube have taken down a video in which President Trump addressed his supporters as a mob of pro-Trump protesters stormed the U.S. Capitol Wednesday afternoon. The sites said the video, in which Mr. Trump seemingly sympathized with protesters and repeated claims about the election, contributed to ongoing violence and violated misinformation policies. Twitter and Facebook went a step further and temporarily locked the president's accounts. Twitter said that if Trump continues to violate Twitter rules after the 12-hour freeze, the Donald Trump account will be permanently suspended. It seems that only the Russian social networks Odnoklassniki and Vkontakte are currently the stronghold of freedom and democracy.

Tucker Carlson Tonight: Capitol Hill Chaos. You may have nothing in common with people on the other side of the country. Increasingly, you probably don’t. The idea that groups of Americans will somehow break off into separate nations of like-minded people — that is fantasy. There is no such thing as a peaceful separation. The two hemispheres of this country are inseparably intertwined. They are co-joined twins. Neither can leave without killing the other. So that’s the first thing to know: as awful as this moment is, we have no option but to make it better. The second thing to consider is why the woman who was killed today went to the rally in the first place. We don’t know anything about her, but she didn’t look particularly radical. She bore no resemblance to the angry children we’ve seen wreck our cities recently. The woman in the Capitol hallway looked pretty much like everyone else. So why was she there? Why were any of them there today? We ought to think about that.
