Olympia, WA – The Washington State Patrol has confirmed there was a second shot fired during a prolonged, expansive, and often-armed clash between groups with opposing political views this past Saturday on and near the Capitol Campus, and is seeking the public’s help in identifying the second shooter. The second shot occurred shortly after and in the immediate vicinity as the first shooting and it appears that the shooter is a member of the opposing group from the first shooter. There are no reports of additional injuries associated with the second shooting. After reviewing video posted on social media, WSP is seeking the public’s help in identifying the person in the photos below and video attached. The photo quality is poor, but anyone who has information, and/or additional video or photographs pertaining to the moments immediately prior to the second shooting, the shooter, or the possible target should contact Detective Sergeant Matt Wood at 360-704-2955 or sistips@wsp.wa.gov

Alaska health care worker suffers adverse reaction after COVID-19 vaccine.

A health care worker in Alaska is doing "well" after suffering an adverse reaction minutes after receiving Pfizer's COVID-19 vaccine, officials said. The health care worker, who was identified as a middle-aged woman, had an allergic reaction that included flushing and shortness of breath within 10 minutes of receiving the first of Pfizer's two-dose jab on Tuesday.

She was still being observed in Bartlett Hospital's foyer at the time of the incident.

The woman, whose name is being withheld, suffered an anaphylactic reaction that required hospitalization and monitoring, and will not be receiving the second dose of the vaccine, officials said during a press briefing on Wednesday. She had no prior history of allergies and took a Benadryl to relieve the symptoms but it did not work.

Once she was admitted to Bartlett Hospital's emergency room, her symptoms resolved within moments of receiving epinephrine. She also received Pepcid and Benadryl via an intravenous drip, according to a press release. She is in stable condition and is scheduled to be released later Wednesday.

"We expected that a side effect like this could occur after reports of anaphylaxis were made in England after people there received the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine," said Alaska’s Chief Medical Officer Dr. Anne Zink. "All sites that are approved to provide vaccinations in Alaska must have medications on hand to deal with an allergic reaction and that was the case in Juneau."

Alaska health officials said there would be no changes to vaccine distribution plans following the incident, and that the woman had been excited to receive the vaccine.

The adverse reaction is the first such instance in the U.S.

LAPD Force Investigation Division is investigating an Officer-Involved #Shooting (OIS) that occurred in Devonshire Division. On November 1, 2020, around 6:00 p.m., a man, later identified as 37-year-old Manuel Marshall Hernandez, was found inside the rear warehouse area of a grocery store in the 16900 block of Devonshire Street. A store employee told Hernandez he needed to leave the area. While he was walking Hernandez out of the store, Hernandez took a handgun from his waistband and pointed it at the employee. Hernandez fled toward the rear of the store and the employee called 9-1-1. Devonshire Division officers responded and found Hernandez standing on top of a fixture near the front of the store. For several minutes, officers tried to convince Hernandez to surrender. Suddenly, Hernandez jumped down and ran toward the rear of the store, holding a firearm in his hand. Hernandez fired at an officer, at that time there was an officer-involved shooting. (Read the full story.)

Buffalo FD 2 Alarm Plus Fire: 517 Woodlawn Avenue
PORTLAND, OR – Portland residents recently teamed up in order to locate and stop what they referred to as a serial stalker, after police were unable to handle the complaint due to being significantly understaffed. Residents from the Rose City Park and North Tabor neighborhoods were forced to search for the man who is said to have harassed at least 11 people. The crime spree started several months ago and continued through the fall. Those who were reporting the crimes to the Portland Police Bureau felt as though they were being ignored or discounted because of delays in responses, or in some circumstances, no responses at all. Members of the neighborhoods teamed up to create their own police force … so to speak. They kept logs of when the crimes were reported, set up patrols in the neighborhoods, and shared information with each other, like a neighborhood watch on steroids. (Read more.)
