UK, West Midlands PD: Man jailed for dangerous driving on M6. This is the moment a dangerous driver ploughed into a taxi driver on the hard shoulder of the M6, before fleeing the scene and checking into a hotel for the night. Ben Cooke is seen undertaking cars in his BMW 118 as he made his way at speed up the motorway between junctions 4a and 5. Seconds before the crash, the victim had pulled onto the hard shoulder and activated his hazard lights. As he got out of the car, Cooke ploughed into the Ford Focus, leaving the driver helplessly lying in lane one of the busy motorway as cars swerved to avoid him. He was arrested the next day and made no comment in interview, but went on to admit causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

Two people were killed and several others were stabbed at the Grace Baptist Church near San Jose State University Sunday night. Police rushed to the scene at the church, at 484 East San Fernando St., shortly after 9 p.m. Sunday and found multiple victims, the police over their media relations channel. “We can confirm we have multiple stabbing victims; some with life threatening injuries, two victims have succumbed to their injuries and have been pronounced deceased.” The police said first responders “rendered aid to victims in the middle of a chaotic scene and undoubtedly saved lives.” The police would not confirm that an arrest had been made. It was not clear what led to the stabbings, but police said homeless people had been allowed to shelter inside the church. Police did not say whether the people brought into the church were involved in the attacks or whether church officials were among the victims.
