A man sought by police after the remains of three people were found near a rural town in southern Colorado was arrested Thursday at a motel in New Mexico. Adre Jordan Baroz, 26, was arrested without incident in Gallup and is facing charges of first-degree homicide, first-degree assault and second-degree kidnapping, according to the Colorado Bureau of Investigation. His warrant remains sealed, and no additional information was available Thursday. Searches last week uncovered the skeletal remains of three people on two properties near Los Sauces, a tiny community outside the small city of Alamosa, more than 200 miles south of Denver, Conejos County Sheriff Garth Crowther said. None of the remains have been identified. Authorities have declined to comment on how Baroz may be connected to the discovery of the remains. They said he is commonly known as “Psycho” in the area but did not elaborate.
National forecast. A pretty quiet forecast for much of the country this weekend. A weak system over the Plains will spread into the Ohio/TN Valley with mainly rain. Temperatures aren't crazy cold, and there's no major storms to dodge. We'll take that on a Friday morning. Have a great weekend!

KENOSHA, Wis. - Speaking out publicly for the first time, Kyle Rittenhouse -- the 17-year-old charged in the fatal shooting of two men during a Kenosha protest -- said that he was protecting himself and does not regret it.In an interview with the Washington Post, the Antioch, Illinois teen said he considers himself "patriotic." The incident transpired on Aug. 25 during unrest that followed protests of the police shooting of Jacob Blake days earlier. In the interview, Rittenhouse described why he brought a gun to the streets of Kenosha that night in the first place. "I was going into a place where people had guns, and God forbid somebody brought a gun to me and tried to shoot me," Rittenhouse said. "So, I like wanted to be protected and I ended up having to protect myself." #FreeKyle
The Linn County sheriff says his deputies will not enforce Oregon Governor Kate Brown’s executive order closing certain businesses, limiting others, and restricting at-home and social gatherings. In a joint press release Thursday, Sheriff Jim Yon and Linn County District Attorney Doug Marteeny said many businesses in the community are holding on by a thread, and individuals are feeling “cut off and alone.” “We understand the realities of Covid-19, but we draw the line when we are dealing with decisions relating to individual residences, religion, or businesses,” the statement reads. The announcement comes the same day Oregon set another record for most new cases and most coronavirus deaths. Brown’s halt to social gatherings and restrictions on retail holds an executive order that makes the measures enforceable by a class C misdemeanor, which means violators could face 30 days in jail, a fine up to $1,250, or both.

When you're looking for a new patrol rifle, it's best to be fully informed and know what you're getting rather than simply buying what the next agency over bought. Since roughly the year 2000 there’s been a growing movement to make rifles available to officers and deputies as part of their patrol equipment. Why? Because the reality of longer distance engagements against potentially better armed subjects/bad actors is being recognized. The reasoning behind such a push is sound and we’ve seen agencies across the nation either add patrol rifles to the shotguns locked in mounts in patrol vehicles, or we’ve seen rifles replace those shotguns in some agencies. We’ve learned along the way what is most desirable as far as design and function characteristics for the selected patrol rifle. The FN 15 SRP G2, from FN America, incorporates virtually every one of those favored design characteristics. Let’s take a look... (Read more.) #guns
