A Good Samaritan used his martial arts training to stop a would-be kidnapper at a NYC park. A local hero stopped someone from kidnapping two young children in New York City last Friday. But, it is unclear if the suspect will face criminal charges as the city sent “medical experts” to evaluate the man instead of hauling him to jail. The #NYPD said they had no information to provide on the incident.

According to TMZ, New York rapper Benny the Butcher, 35, was shot in the leg during an attempted robbery on Saturday, Nov. 14. TMZ reports that the rapper, real name Jeremie Pennick was in Houston visiting friends, before stopping at a Walmart. Per TMZ: While they were in their car in the parking lot, a vehicle with five men inside pulled up next to them and produced weapons, demanding their jewelry. Moments later one of the five men fired a shot into Pennick's leg, and the men fled the scene. He was taken to a hospital for treatment, his condition is unknown at this time. According to TMZ, police say the men who attempted to rob him are also still at large, and Houston Police has an investigation is underway.

Strong winds will blow in the Southland amid warm temperatures Monday, creating elevated fire weather conditions through this evening and risks of power outages, according to the National Weather Service. The weather service forecast gusts of 20-35 miles per hour along the coasts and in Southland valleys and of 35-50 mph in the mountains. But as of early Monday, the only wind advisory issued was for the Santa Clarita Valley and portions of San Luis Obispo and Ventura counties. It will be in effect until 2 p.m.
