WOODINVILLE, Wash. — A suspected car thief was fatally wounded at a Woodinville apartment complex after he allegedly opened fire Monday afternoon on two King County Sheriff's Office deputies, who returned fire, killing the suspect, authorities said. Both male deputies were wounded during the incident, which occurred shortly after 12 p.m. near the Beaumont Apartment complex, located at 14001 NE 183rd Street, in Woodinville, a sheriff's spokesman said. One of the deputies was rushed for treatment to Harborview Medical Center before he was released Monday evening. The other deputy was transported to EvergreenHealth Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, according to officials. He was said to be in stable condition Monday evening.

The truce came after significant advances by Azerbaijani forces that the Nagorno-Karabakh leader said made it impossible for their side to carry on — but angered many Armenians, who stormed government buildings overnight, demanding the Parliament invalidate the agreement. Several cease-fires announced over the past six weeks crumbled almost immediately, but the current agreement appeared to be holding, with neither side reporting any more fighting since it came into force.

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - A Santa Maria man was arrested Sunday after driving his vehicle into a Trump parade, causing a rollover crash and two injuries.

The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday will consider a $3.9 million settlement of a federal lawsuit brought by the family of Ryan Twyman, an unarmed 24-year-old Compton man shot to death in his car by sheriff's deputies in Willowbrook. The deputies alleged that Twyman tried to use the Kia Forte as a weapon. (Video of deadly deputy-involved shooting in Willowbrook.) The plaintiffs -- who included Twyman's three minor sons, his parents and Daimeon Leffall, a passenger in the car -- alleged civil rights violations, battery and negligence. According to the plaintiffs' court papers, the deputies "violently" confronted Twyman even though he and Leffall were unarmed and not a threat to them. The deputies then opened fire, killing Twyman and injuring Leffall, according to the court papers filed in January. The plaintiffs alleged the deputies violated an LASD policy that forbids using deadly force against people in a vehicle.

SANTA FE SPRINGS, Calif. - A man who is accused of stabbing at least two people, killing one of them, has died after being shot in Santa Fe Springs Monday night. The Whittier Police Department responded to a call of a crash a little after 5:45 p.m. in the 12200 block of Telegraph Road. Upon arrival, a man carrying a knife charged a police officer on scene. The officer, who was with Whittier PD, shot the suspect, ultimately killing him. As the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Deputy investigated the incident, deputies learned that the knife-carrying suspect was traveling in a car with a man and a woman. The suspect then stabbed both the man and the woman, killing the woman and leaving the man in critical condition, according to LASD. Anyone with information on the deadly incidents are asked to call 323-890-5500.
