#LMPD spokesperson Jessie Halladay confirms: a police officer was shot downtown and is en route to an area hospital. She declined to provide further details and said the department would issue a statement.

Update: Two police officers have been shot after protests turned violent in Louisville, Kentucky in the wake of the Breonna Taylor charges that were announced today.
